Smart Panel Will Shed Circuits After Initial Power-up

Modified on Mon, 6 Oct at 2:29 PM

Important Note: When a ReliaHome Smart Panel is first powered on after installation, all ReliaHome relays controlling circuits will open, cutting power to the controlled circuits. After the system has been configured using the ReliaHome Smart Panel app, the relays will close and remain closed until a specified limit is reached (power demand is exceeded, battery state-of-charge falls below a setpoint, or a circuit schedule is activated).

This behavior is intentional. The ReliaHome Smart Panel can be used for service upsize avoidance; allowing more load on a panel than otherwise would be permitted by the electrical code. In order to prevent overcurrent on the service, the ReliaHome Smart Panel is designed to not allow power to pass until it is configured with a specific maximum current setpoint or set up for use in solar and storage energy management.

DO NOT energize the ReliaHome power breaker until you are ready to configure the system using the app. Controlled circuits will be unavailable between the time the power circuit is energized and the time when the system is configured. The smart panel will allow power to pass through on blue wires when first installed until the ReliaHome power circuit is energized.

The following warning can be found on the ReliaHome power circuit wiring:
